Oryth is a macOS music player designed for listening to your own music library. We respect your privacy and aim to keep the app simple, personal, and transparent.
1. Information We Collect
Oryth does not require an account to use the app.
The app is designed to work with audio files that you choose to import or open on your Mac. These files remain on your device unless you choose to move, delete, or manage them yourself.
Oryth may store app-related data locally on your device, such as:
- Your music library index
- Playlist information
- Playback preferences
- Audio output settings
- App settings and cached artwork
This information is stored locally to make the app work properly and improve your listening experience.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
Oryth does not collect, sell, or share your personal music library.
We do not use your imported audio files for advertising, profiling, or third-party data sharing.
Oryth does not require you to create an account, and we do not collect account login information through the app.
3. Local Files and Music Library
When you add music to Oryth, the app may read file names, audio metadata, album information, artwork, duration, and technical audio details in order to display and play your library.
This data is used only for app functionality, such as organizing your library, showing track information, and enabling playback.
4. Audio Output and Device Information
Oryth may access information about available audio output devices on your Mac so that you can select where your music plays.
This may include device names, sample rate information, and playback-related diagnostics. This information is used only within the app to support audio playback and troubleshooting.
5. Internet Access
Some Oryth features may require internet access, such as loading external web content, radio directory information, or online media surfaces when you choose to use those features.
Oryth does not use this access to sell personal data or track you for advertising.
If external services are used, their own privacy policies may apply.
6. Cookies and Tracking
Oryth does not use advertising trackers.
If a feature opens or displays external web content, that external service may use its own cookies or tracking technologies. Oryth does not control the privacy practices of third-party websites or services.

We do not sell your personal information.
We do not share your local music library with advertisers or data brokers.
Information may only be disclosed if required by law, regulation, legal process, or a valid government request.
8. Data Retention
Oryth stores app data locally on your Mac for as long as you keep using the app.
You may remove app data by deleting the app and its related local support files, or by using macOS storage management tools where applicable.
9. Security
We take reasonable steps to design Oryth in a way that respects local privacy and keeps your music library under your control.
However, no software system can guarantee complete security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Mac, your files, and your backups.

Oryth is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.
